Runaway at the beginning, I moved away from the elite boarding school. Felt better, at the first fights in the new school, very down by earth now. Few fights I won and most I lost, but I got friends. Parents had offered me a solid education, god bless you, it is a perfect framework to be used - if I wanted to.
But I left home, which had changed frequently before I became ten anyway, dropped out from physics and economy at the university, left everything I knew.
Everything fit into one backpack and live spilled me and Walter to South America – to the AMAZON. Rated the chance to survive and return to fifty/fifty but finally it was better than expected. Explore the Amazon river. Why? Nobody had travelled the entire river before and it was simply there, tempting for adventurers, and we were ready to go. I was 23.
10 months later my diaries were full of the stories I would have liked to read before departure. Jungle, animals, rapids, natives, corruption, drugs, fear and euphoria, exhaustion and survival, and so much live in our veins. Close to death – but so alive!
Dirty clothes in a disrupted backpack were all my belongings on return but several thousand slides and the stories in my diaries preserved the real marvels from falling into oblivion.
Travelling lead to changes and new hunger for more adventures had risen. Three years later it happened again. Everything acquired from new was sold again and a new adventure started. Explore ASIA – this time my partner was Barbara. She had quit her job as personal secretary, just twenty-four years old.
We dunk into Sri Lanka’s civil war and deep into Asian cultures. A magus made us fly or die and we learned that it is easier to give than to take from the poorest and our modest budget lead us directly to the beating heart of Asia.
Golden signs showed us the way to the Himalayas and later to Burma. Black gold glittered on the way to hill tribes hidden in the golden triangle, who had never seen white people before. Finally jungle got us back in the heart of Malaysia, just to mention few of our stations.
After one year, two strangers were back to Europe, overloaded with treasures live can give. We had finally started to walk our way – where will we arrive?
I am not boring you with the rest of my live story but it continued to be full of travels, full of adventures and full of treasures. Probably it was less spectacular seen from outside, but breathless from my perspective.
If you have read until here you might be interested into treasure hunting, so go ahead, they are here somewhere and you will have to walk into my pictures. But look out – you might find a trail there into yours.
